Music was blaring in the kitchen as Harper began to make breakfast, dancing around the room as she grabbed the ingredients. Sure, Riley was probably still asleep, but he had to be used to this by now. Not only was she an early riser, but she had to get her groove on to start the day off right. What was life without a bit of fun? Barely hearing her husband stir in the bedroom, Harper reached over to the coffee maker and started it so that the brew would be nice and hot by the time he made it out of bed. Singing along to whatever catchy tune was on the radio, she pulled out the bacon and eggs to sit on the counter. "Hey babe!" She greeted cheerfully as he rounded the corner. Being married was the best thing ever, especially when you were married to Riley Bennett, the sweetest guy in Panem.

Riley rolled over in bed and stretched out noticing once again that the bed was empty, though it was a little warmer than normal so it would seem he got up closer to when the love of his life woke up. Smiling when he heard the music begin to echo in the house he groaned a little wanting to stay in bed a little longer though he would prefer to have Harper with him. Sitting up he stretched again before dropping to the floor and completing three sets of pushups 50 push ups a set and did the same for sit ups. Once done he slipped on his slippers and lounge pants and walked downstairs and chuckled as he saw his wife dancing to the beat of the music.
"Hello gorgeous, seems like I missed you to much and just had to come see you. Is the coffee ready?" He said as he closed the gap and lifted her off her feet as he kissed her, setting her down he smiled, "What do you have planned for today?"

"Well right now I'm making breakfast." Harper teased with a bright smile, reaching behind her to grab his coffee cup and handed it to him. "Then Becca is taking the girls and I shopping to get ready for the Victory Tour. Poor Freya, she's so sweet." Shaking her head, her smile turned a little sad as she thought about the tiny victor who had managed to not harm a single soul in her games.
"Also, that reminds me. Prepare for hurricane Becca and the girls to be over within the next few days. Something about you needing to be ready for when Freya hits 11. Their going after Fin first, so you may want to call and warn him." Finley was one of her favorites and a sweet guy if you got to know him, but the girls kinda freaked him out like they did Riley. Hopefully they could all get through this tour without an incident like last year.

Harper mixed with the three others was a handful especially her sisters. He groaned at the memory of his first meeting with his design team and their comments. Harper had stood out having not wanted to comment on anything, she had talked to him as a person not a supposed celebrity and even after all these years when many of the capitol citizen's wanted him to retell his experiences she would move them away. As far as he knew Harper had never truly been a fan of the games, only found her power had great benefits in her work, sighing as he came back to reality he took a large sip of his coffee and smiled.
"Thanks for letting me know, I still can't believe your sisters thought it best to compare us...I am lucky to have met you and I will always say that, but your sisters at times..." Taking a breath he sighed, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't say that, I guess it is still hard even after all these years to live here and see how the people act. You were always just a little different, you stood out." Smiling he bent down and kissed her again, "Breakfast smells amazing." Riley changed the subject before he lost himself in memories of the past. "I just hope this time they don't try to compare how we look naked, that really shouldn't be what your sister-in-laws talk about in front of you."

"Fin has a fantastic tan and looks better in the games uniform. Can't argue with them on that one babe." Harper teased, removing the bacon from the pan before leaning over to kiss Riley. Her job in the games meant seeing lots of young men and women naked, though her sisters tried to make it in to a joke. Currently, Fin was higher on the male scale than Riley. He lost the hotness factor when he became not only unavailable, but their brother in law. Becca kept him in second place by using several compelling arguments that tended to upset Harper just a little, but they didn't mean anything by it. "You look better in a tux though. Remind me and I'll grab your measurements tonight so they don't have to do it when they come." The less poking and prodding her sisters did, the less likely one of them was to lose an arm when Riley finally snapped ms hurt one of them.

Riley set his coffee down and clutched at his heart as he stole a kiss before he said, "Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." and he allowed himself to slowly fall to the floor and lay there for a little bit. He would have stayed there longer but at the wrong time his stomach growled loudly and so he pushed himself to his feet pouting muttering, "Traitor!" under his breath. Wrapping his arms around Harper he made sure to make their bodies flush with each other, then said, "So will it be just measurements or..." trailing off he placed a kiss on her pulse point, a place she never seemed to complain about.

"Well...the more thorough the measurements are, the less likely Becca will need to do them twice." Harper teased with a small wink, finishing the eggs and scooping them on to the waiting plates and picking them both up. "Come on, let's eat breakfast. Besides, what are you up to today, and don't say anything because you know Becca's lazy senses will start tingling and she will FIND you work." By the time her little speech was over, Harper had been reduced to a fit of giggles in her husband's arms. Deciding that she did NOT want to make breakfast again, she put the plates back down before turning in his embrace to wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him. Yea, getting married was definitely her best decision ever.

He slipped a hand under her shirt and traced small little lines along her stomach as he continued to place attention on her neck then her jaw before he pulled away. "There are so many things that we could do that would keep me away from your friends, though I doubt they would keep your darling sisters away... In fact I know that to be true." He shuddered at the memory of their wedding night, it was significantly less romantic once they had walked in on them. He removed his hand and grabbed the plates and his coffee taking them to the table.
"You always had a way of keeping me from snapping at them, even when it wasn't your job. Hell you keep me sane when the reporters or...fans... come by." he said smiling despite the venom he placed on the word Fans. "You saved me and I love you even more for that."

"Mhmm. So is that admission of guilt? It is close enough to the tour that she WILL find you an interview." Becca was relentless, even if Harper thought the victors should be left alone after a few years. Just yesterday Harper had to fend off some new fad company attempting to get Riley to do an endorsement for their latest and greatest product. Something about food that made you lose weight the more you ate. "And I love you too for the record. Crazy fans and all, though if one of them gets grabby again we may have a little bit of a problem. The merchandise is mine and mine alone." Sliding up behind him, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders in a small hug before finding her own chair across the small table.

Riley chuckled a little, "Even if I had something to do Becca would find a way to include me, after all I am the odd one out I married a Capitol Citizen. Also I am in total agreement, this.." Standing up he showed of his body, "is all yours. However that means keeping your sisters at bay as well, though I am not in their top picks anymore they still love to pester me. I do admit they do it less than the fans..." Shuddering at some of the more aggressive fans with in the first year or so that he won, or survived as he liked to say.

Harper laughed at the thought of her sisters messing with Riley and how much he hated it. "Come on babe, you know they love you and are just doing their job. Besides, Becca is the one with the crush, though she still would probably take Fin. Seems like I'm the only one with good taste left in this city." Winking at Riley she stood up to walk back in to the kitchen and grabbed her glass of juice, looking him over for a moment as she returned to the table. He looked so much better than he had this time last year or the year before. Harper doubted that he would ever be that sweet boy from eleven that she met again, but he got a little closer every year.
"You could come shopping with us and just get t over with. Then we don't have to do the production of having her come over and the sisters have to remain relatively tame." A mischievous smirk graced her lips as she slid back in to her chair and looked up at him. "Besides, who else is going to hold my bags?"

Riley turned to look at his wife as she got up admiring the view and then turned away just as she turned around and took a sip of his coffee, Becca having a crush on him was news since he was sure she would have wanted Fin anyway. Smiling though he said, "Really Becca has a crush on me? Hmmm maybe I should talk to her about that..." He turned and winked at Harper and then broke into laughter. There was no way he would give up all this time with her for anyone else.
As she came back to the table she suggested that he just go shopping with them his shoulders dropped, "Are you really wanting to submit me to that torture? When I go with you I love it since you have a plan and even when you get side tracked I am with the woman who captured my heart. When I am with Becca, your sisters and you more people figure out who...they ask..." Closing his eyes he took a few calming breaths and then looked at Harper. "At least I will have the sexiest woman on my arm. I will go with you, I'll go anywhere with you for as long as I can." He smiled knowing that anything could come with this next reaping. Things could drastically change since the rules had not even been announced yet. "Breakfast is wonderful."

At Riley's statement, Harper reached across the table to hold his hand. "Hey. Don't worry about it until it happens. There are plenty of other young men in 11, surely you won't have to again, and if you do you will come home to me. I have no doubt of that." Of course she was worried, but she would never tell him that. It would absolutely destroy riley to play again and no one knew that more than Harper. At least she was safe and would never have to worry about the reaping. She'd take his place if she could though, hands down. "Why don't you stay home and read a book. I'll cover for you and we'll go shopping later, okay?"

Riley shook his head, "As much as I would like to stay home you are right. Also I can't always try and avoid this life. I don't have to enjoy it though and I will never support it, I support you but I will never support the games privately of course." He was holding his fork in his hands as he was pulled back into a memory.
The horn sounded and he knew he had to fight to get some equipment, but he had to protect his fellow tribute. He wasn't fast, but he could out run the others if needed. His first kills happened in the race for a backpack and an attempt at the bow. The boy was not more than thirteen...he was from a lower district and though he wanted to keep the younger ones safe this young boy felt he had to fight, it was quick. He refused to let anyone suffer. Well other than the careers who trained for this, who reviled in this. He swung the dagger he pulled from the boys hand and felt it hit home in the careers side.
Riley didn't realize he was shaking until he felt the warm presence of his wife and he blinked a few times. His breathing caught in his throat. He had to act like these games gave you power, they gave you fame. All they gave him were memories...nightmares and Harper. His shaking hand reached up to her face, "They think I am strong...no one but you sees it, you were the only one that noticed."

The fork Riley had been holding was sticking straight out of the table as the flashback came and went. Harper didn't even ask which one, but simply leaned in to his touch after his hand moved to her face. Whenever he seemed to calm down a bit, she wrapped her hands around the arm extended towards her and looked him in the eye. "I know babe. You did what you had to do, but you still suffer for it." Standing up she pulled him to his feet and crossed the floor to the couch, breakfast being the last thing on her mind. Once he was settled in she sat down beside him and curled up to his side. "Someday maybe you'll be able to forgive yourself or move on. At least our kids won't have to deal with that if we ever decide to have any. They'll be capital citizens." The comment was meant to be reassuring, even if it probably sounded selfish.
