welcome to revenge is sweeter

Shortly after the emergence of Super Heroes in to modern society, tragedy struck. A mass extinction event brought on by nuclear warfare, which even the Supers were unable to prevent, caused the loss of all non-supers and left the world in chaos. The remaining world leaders band together to create the country of Panem. Under their guidance, the Districts were created with the center of the new world being the Capital. However, some citizens were not happy with the current living conditions. They were Heroes, after all.

Thirty one years ago, the districts rebelled against their saviors. The Capital did not take kindly to this uprising. Thirteen districts entered, and only twelve returned. As punishment for their disgrace, the Capital began the Hunger Games: a competition pitting the children of each district against each other in order to gain fame, riches, and most importantly, the right to live. Every year, twenty four young men and women enter the arenas, and only one will survive.

With the first Quarter Quell still fresh in their minds, the Citizens of Panem have no wish to revolt, and any talk of it is unheard of. Even the strong simply wish to survive another year. Though traditional heroes no longer exist, the superpowers are still prevalent in society, making the games ever changing and more intense each year. The Thirty-First annual Hunger Games is about to begin.

CURRENT SEASON | LATE AUTUMN

THE WEATHER FORECAST | the southern district are having a rather cool fall with a few rainy days and gusty winds from the north causing a chill to the wind that is rather irregular. the northern districts are experiencing a cooler fall than usual as well, having a few early snow showers and prospects for a harsh winter.

This is the approved powers list. Before we get into the fun stuff, we do need to cover a few rules of the powers list.

Each power's name is coded to inform you of something specific. The key is as follows:

POWER NAME | this power has no users and is completely open
POWER NAME | this power requires at least one character with 20 IC posts

If you want a power you don't see list below, feel free to PM a staff member and request permission.

POWER INTERACTIONS
powers that have something to do with other peoples' powers whether it changes them in some way or make you aware of them.

PERSONAL PHYSICAL POWERS
these powers have to do with a person's physical body in some way. things like super strength and breathing underwater will be here.

MENTALITY POWERS
powers that mostly occur in a person's mind. the kind of powers you will find here range from empathy to dream control.

MANIPULATION POWERS
these powers are manipulations of some sort. all the elemental controls are going to be in this category.

TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSFORMATION
these are pretty self explanatory but they will include things like teleporting and flight.

PHEROMONE MANIPULATION
the ability to create and manipulate pheromones which can have a variety of affects.

POISON GENERATION
the ability to generate poison and use it against others.

SONIC SCREAM
the ability to generate sounds from the mouth at a higher pitch than a normal human.

SUPERHUMAN ENDURANCE
the ability to have a inhuman stamina.
