The snow was relentless. And so was Braxton. There was no way to tell if he was just in a mood or if something was actually wrong with him this time but he started throwing things and screaming at their mother for some reason and Octavia knew she just had to get out. Pulling a fur lined coat over her shoulders, Octavia ran out the front door without warning anyone and took off down the road.
It was hard to really tell if she was upset about Braxton, or just annoyed, but all of that was quickly forgotten as her boot caught a bit of black ice and she slid across the road and fell onto her butt. The snow was wet and soaked her blue jeans through quickly. She started laughing loudly, laying in the road without bothering to get up and brush the snow off of her clothing and out of her hair.

The one night that dad was home would have to be the night that the twins decided to pick a fight with mom. Deciding that the screaming match wasn't worth it, Alex grabbed his jacket and walked out the door, just intending to go around the block once or twice before heading back. That would give Aimery enough time to go sulk in his room and for Mel to run off to Brax's house for however long they could get away with it. As long as the peacekeepers didn't catch her, he could care less what his sister did tonight.
Rounding the corner, he watched as Octavia Wyatt fell in the snow and laid there despite the bitter cold around them. Walking across the road to where she sat laughing, Alex knelt down beside her with a grin. "Already Tav? You couldn't let us have one good snow before wiping out?" Holding a hand out to her, he shook his head and stood up, looking around them as he did. At least the street was deserted.
