It was a chilly day toward the end of fall and, despite being along the coast line, there was a rather frigid gust wafting off the waves and making Jaden shiver. She hugged her light jacket closer to her body and stood on the surface of the water, made hard by her hydrokinesis. She had been out looking for her father and had not been successful in finding him. So now, she stood on the surface of the water watching the sun set about ten or twenty feet from shore.
Yawning, Jaden watched the horizon as if expecting it to change. It was a flat, glowing orange line blurred out by the brightness of the setting sun. Behind her, the vast sky was painted an array of blues and purples that reminded Jaden of a night time sea, calm and glittering with so many stars you would think the surface of the water was covered in the diamonds of district one. Smiling, Jaden shivered again.

Lizzie had been looking for her friend Jaden, though she loved her grandmother there were just some nights she needed a break. When she went to Jaden's home she was told that she wasn't there so she made her way to the coast, her friend loved the water and it was a place she usually went if she wasn't home. Once she was close enough she saw her friend silhouette and smiled, it was a cool fall evening and as she approached she noticed Jaden shivering so she took off her jacket and placed it on her friends shoulders, "Penny for your thoughts?" Lizzie added as she stepped to her friends side.

Startled by her friend's sudden appearance, Jaden turned and looked at her with raised eye brows, "Oh hey." She laughed, shaking her head with a smile, "No penny needed. I am not really thinking about anything." Frowning at the horizon she squinted into the last bit of sunlight that seemed the glitter across the sky, "I was looking for my dad."

Lizzie placed her hands in her pockets and looked out over the ocean and watched as the sunset, "Was he supposed to have been back by now?" She asked as she knew Jaden's father at times took longer trips out and wasn't sure if this was one of those trips. "Also I am sorry for startling you. Though you looked a little cold and thought you needed the jacket more than I did." Lizzie said turning to smile at her friend. She took a hand out of her pocket and placed it on her friends shoulder squeezing lightly, "Also I am sure he is alright out there, I don't think I know someone who knows the ocean quite like your Dad. I'm a little jealous about that actually."
