Malia is very compassionate toward those around her. She isn't easy to fall into trust, but once she does you can bet that she will have your back through anything. No matter your circumstance, your background, your battle scars- she will befriend you if your heart is in the right place. She is very empathetic and concerned for others.

As mentioned previously, Malia is slow to trust. She has been hurt in the past and makes it a point to take her time getting to know someone before she will let herself trust them. She often sympathizes for people long before she allows them to care for her, however. She approaches many situations with careful thought and attention, making her an excellent strategist.

Malia cares for all of Gods creatures and shows kindness to those she meets early on. Even though she is careful not to get into potentially dangerous situations, she starts caring for something the moment she meets them, wanting to know their history and their goals. She is incredibly loving to those that she is already close to and can often be seen bringing soup and comfort to the ill or injured.

She cannot rewind her age, but she can choose to stay frozen or to let herself age at her own will. Staying frozen in one age takes a lot of concentration, when she wants to do this she meditates every morning and ignites her power within herself. She is very careful with it, though, for she fears if she stays young for too long she may never be able to grow old-and that isn't something she wants.

She can grant this gift in others, but really only gives them one extra year than they would have had, unless she gives them more at another time. She cannot give someone many years at once, but the ability to stay young has to be revisited every once in a while. Some capital members have heard of this ability and have tried finding people who have it to pay them, but so far they haven't discovered her ability.

HISTORY ► Malia, like most citizens of Panem, lived in fear of being reaped into the Hunger Games. She was lucky enough not to, and made it to age 19 free and clear. At least, as free and clear as you could be in this type of society. Her family lives in district four and are your general fisherman family. Being in one of the more well off districts, Malia hasn't had to take any tessarea to feed her family and her father works very hard.

They would be considered the middle class of their district, with a decent sized home and well trained fishing skills. They do there daily work, and when reaping day comes all she has to worry about now is her little brother. Four years ago, at the age of twenty, Malia met a fine fisherman and charming man. It would be a good marriage, a sensible one-that's what her parents told her.

She and him got engaged two years later, and at the age of twenty two Malia was meant to be a bride in just a few months. However, the engagement was broken off when Malia found evidence of her fiance sleeping with another woman-a woman who was in fact his own brothers romantic interest. Disgusted at their behavior and horrified by this experience, Malia broke it off and has been still living with her parents and brother ever since.
