Right now was a weekend from training school. Ang didn't really know what to do when outside of training school, as training for the games was what she lived for. Spending time with her mother never helped, as Ellen was usually just at home, visiting friends, or in town hanging out like the feminine diva she was. Therefore, she usually just went off to train some more. Therefore, she while she was on her way to the training arena, she had to pass by the town square. However, the moment she stepped into the premises of the town square, Angharad stopped walking and observed the square. She was imagining another reaping happening with her standing proudly in the crowd and holding her head up eye, her eyes gleaming with triumph at the call of her name. And then, she remembered vividly the feelings of disappointment when for the past years since she was 12, she had never been called before.

Working with stone was not the way Melanie was intending to spend her weekend. As soon as her mother turned her back long enough, the young telepath made her way out of the house and headed in the direction of town square. She wasn't quite sure where she was going yet, or why she hadn't just gone straight to the Wyatt house. The sight of Braxton's younger sister standing in the middle of the square looking slightly forelorn caught her eye, and even though Melanie wasn't quite sure that Angharad would want her company, she approached her anyways. They were practically family, right? "Good morning Ang. What bring you out here of all places on a day off?" From the looks of it the girl was on her way to training, Mel's least favorite activity.

Normally Angharad wasn't one to daydream. In fact, daydreaming was silly in her opinion. But the only thing worth daydreaming about was to be called in a reaping to step up was a tribute. Of course, death was a huge possibility, but she viewed dying in the games as an honor. She really hoped that she would be picked in future reapings before she became too old.
She snapped out of her trance when someone approached her. She turned and smiled slightly when she saw that it was Melanie, her brother's girlfriend. She liked Melanie, not only because Mel was associated with Brax, but the girl was also easy to get along with. "Good morning to you too, Mel," she began. She answered Mel's question readily. "I was just going to cross the town square to get to the practice arena. But I suppose I became a little distracted by my imagination." She looked away from the pretty blonde girl and looked at the square again. "I was imagining myself being picked as tribute in a reaping. I really do hope it happens in the next reaping."

Melanie took in the younger girl for a minute with a quizzical look. It had to be genetic. Brax and Tav were barely able to contain their excitement at the games as well. "Why don't you just volunteer like Brax is going to when he turns 18? It wouldn't be unheard of. Tav probably will too." Melanie had to suppress a shudder at the thought of all three Wyatt siblings going away for the games and not returning. She was closer to Tav, and of course Brax, but her heart would break if anything happened to Ang. It seemed like they all had a death wish though. Luckily for her, they were all too stubborn to die. Right?

Ang nodded when Mel suggested that she volunteer like her siblings. "I shall do that this time," she said with determination. "I regret not having done so earlier, but I'm going to do everything I can to be chosen." Though, it was going to be a bit...hard to fight against her brother if it so happened that she and Brax were chosen as tributes. "I know that there is the chance that I might have to fight against Brax if we're both chosen...but it's worth it. In any case I suppose I'd left him have the victory. I want to win, but I love my brother and he would bring honor upon our family, too. It wouldn't be a bad fate to die in the games." She said this matter-of-factually as if it were the most normal thing to say, which it was for her.

"Why are you all so eager to die? You could at least plan it out so that you volunteer on different years. I'd at least like a chance at not having to bury all of you." Melanie complained, the annoyance in her voice coming more out of concern than out of anger. Braxton shouldn't have to kill one of his sisters to survive. She didn't even know if he could, not unless they turned on him first. As annoying as they could be sometimes, he loved his sisters. " your family has more than enough honor already. Why can't one of you just go be a peacekeeper like your dad? That's an honorable job."

Angharad could sense the anguish in Mel. She understood that people were afraid of losing loved ones just as she didn't want to lose them, but she couldn't understand why there were some who didn't see the prestige and honor in dying in the games--and just everything about the games in general. "Time is running out, Mel," Ang said gravely. "We must do it now or we might never get the chance. Planning is only a waste of time. And I'm sure that if one of us out of my siblings dies, there will still be two others living. The odds of all three of us going aren't probable." The chances of getting picked at all were slight, after all, which was Ang's worry, but right now she was using it as a means to point out that if one of the Wyatt kids died, it wasn't likely the others would follow. "Though, I do understand why you would want Brax to live. You have a personal relationship with him." She crossed her arms and smiled slightly. "Rest assured, he is strong and ousts all of the other students in training school, and we all know how our district's training is the top of the line."
Ang also had a ready answer when Mel suggested that her family had more than enough honor as is. "And that is why we must continue to bring honor into the family. It shouldn't cease just because one member was capable of doing something to be proud of," she countered. But she realized that people like Mel would always have something to argue against her ideas. She didn't mind pointing things out from now until dusk, but she decided that she'd rather chat with Mel. "But that aside, how have you and your brothers been getting along lately?" She disliked Aimery, but Alexander was alright.

"Braxton will go. He's slotted to volunteer this year and you know that. The only thing that CAN'T happen, is you and Tav having to face off against each other. Depending on when you two volunteer, he could have to kill one of you to come home. If you just wait another year, you won't put him in that position. Besides, he'd be less distracted without a sibling in the arena. So would you." Now she wasn't trying to argue, she was trying to strategize. "This is what I mean about planning. Think it through Ang, please. For everyone's sake."

Part of Ang knew that Mel was right, but her eagerness to jump into the games ASAP clouded her judgment and common sense a bit. "As I said, if Braxton and I were to face each other off in the games, I would most certainly be happy to sacrifice myself--" But then she thought about Braxton and Tavie. No, no. That was impossible. Her baby sister against their precious brother. Ang strangely was okay with Braxton killing her, but she could imagine that doing it against Tavie was impossible.
"I stand here corrected," she said, sounding proud and tough as usual. "That would be most undesirable, if Brax and Tavie were to go against one another in the games. I don't think any of us could bear that." She looked out at the square and heaved a sigh. "I shall have to be patient, as you suggest. It is not easy when what I am brimming with such eagerness, for it is what I am born to do. At least I will still have two more chances, while Brax only has this one left."

"There you go. Sharing is caring, even when it comes to the Games." Melanie finished, barely suppressing an eye roll. Brax owed her big time whenever she saw him again. Pulling her jacket a little closer as the cool wind picked up, Melanie looked around the town square and then back at the girl in front of her.
The idea of training was never appealing to Mel, but she was bored and didn't have much else to do other than go see Brax and Tavie, who would probably want to head out almost right off to train anyways. Might as well beat them there. "So Ang, who are you training with today? Mind if I tag along for a while?" Getting her butt kicked by someone other than her boyfriend and her brother might be refreshing, even if it could be slightly more demeaning than normal. At least they meant well.
