Pulling his hand closer so that she could wrap both of hers around it, Amy shook her head. "I would, but you never know if it'll be another eight years before I see you again. Wouldn't want to say I wasted the opportunity." Her grin was mischievous, but her tone was sincere. She was too much of a realist to think that things wouldn't be different in the morning. Fin had better things to do than mess around with her all the time. "Besides, if I get up now I'll be too far away to help you out, and we wouldn't want that. We do however need a change in topic." Them and danger didn't sound as amusing as she laid in his bed staring at him. He felt more like a big teddy bear tonight then a ruthless killer.

At the thought of waiting another eight years to see each other, Fin found himself literally shaking his head. "Right. Opportunity," he said, unsure of himself. He was starting to feel a little drowsy, loopy even. He grinned back at her, nodding at the suggestion to change the subject. "Agreed. Stay close. As for the topic change..." He stitched his eyebrows together, thinking about where he could go with this. "So, you've never been romantic with anyone because of your rule, and this role expires on your birthday?" He approached this topic carefully, trying to be casual.

So he was going to go there? Well, Amy was alright with that, especially since he would probably change his mind in the morning. "Technically it expired after the last one. But I haven't found anyone worth my time. The guys my age are jerks and have already tried to break the rule several times over in ways I'd rather not discuss, so I decided to just not say anything until the time was right." Shifting slightly, she noticed how tired he was. Maybe him falling asleep would be a good thing. He really did need the rest. "so unless someone changes that in the next week or so, the rule stands out of principal."

Oh, so the rule was already expired. At that he felt himself a little relieved, though heaven knows why. Fin wasn't planning to have a romantic relationship with anyone. The less kids there were, the better. Still, he found himself getting a little tense as she stated that she hadn't found anyone worth her time and had that classic Finley inspiration to prove that wrong. Then she went on to say guys her age were jerks, and that guys tried breaking the rule. He wanted to ask about that, but he was sure that it was a delicate thing. Plus, she had said she didn't want to discuss it, and part of him knew that if he heard it... well, there was a reason he avoided going out in public.
He shook his head, "people are stupid trying to take advantage of you. Not that I'm saying I don't see why they would want to," oh Gods Fin stop talking, "I mean to say that you're too good for that. You're smart to hold off for someone... worth your time," He felt sad saying that, knowing that he was not someone who could be worth her time. Aside from being excellent at being sick or injured, she really had no other purpose to see him.
And why did that bother him so much?
"Anyway," he started, absentmindedly stroking his thumb over her hand, "I promise I won't hurt you," she already knew that, of course, but he felt like it needed to be reiterated.

"I know you won't." The way he spoke caused her to frown slightly in confusion. Was he trying to insinuate something? From where she stood, that's what it looked like. Maybe Fin thought he would be that guy, and if he was genuine then he was probably right. "I have a feeling that we aren't talking about the same kind of hurt anymore though, or am I wrong?" One of her hands found his free one and guided it over towards the two that hadn't seperated for most of the evening. Whatever was going on here, she was fairly certain she was okay with it. If he changed his mind in the morning, she wouldn't have to see him again. If he didn't though... Well, she would figure that out when the time came.

Fin hadn't realized that was why he felt like bringing up that he wouldn't hurt her again, but she was probably right. He wasn't really talking about the physicality of it anymore. She reached for his other hand, and that motion was obviously not medical. She only needed one hand for her ability to work. He started breathing a little heavier, looking down at their hand and shaking his head. "I'm... not sure," he said, but before he could say anything else he looked up across the room and sneezed.
Suddenly, he was on the opposite side of the room, crashing into his dresser. He groaned and slid down to the ground. The throbbing pain in his throat came back, but the medicine was obviously lessening it. His head was throbbing though, as was the parts of his body that rammed into the dresser. "Damn it," he muttered.

One second, she had been looking at Fin and wondering what to say, the next he was on the other side of the room. Amy watched in shock as he reappeared and slammed in to the dresser, obviously injured. "Fin!" She exclaimed, jumping out of the bed and kneeling down beside him. From what she could see, his head and maybe his shoulder had hit the furniture hard. "what was that?" Reaching out towards him, she grabbed his wrist before trying to look him over farther. Of course this would happen on top of everything else.

Someone was at his side... asking him what had happened... grabbing his wrist... oh, it was Amy. He shook his head, looking up at her. "Nothing. I just lost my focus and accidentally ended up over here. I haven't used my abilities on purpose much since the games, guess I'm outta practice," he said, his voice hoarse and a rough. He leaned into the carpet and coughed once, twice before turning back to face her. "Just leave me here to die," he said, his attempt at a joke.

Amy shook her head at him with a small smile before grabbing his arm and attempting to pull him to his feet. Unfortunately, he was too big for her to do it successfully. "your so funny, I almost forgot to laugh. Help me out here, because I can't pick you up. Your kinda twice my size, if not more." Tugging on his arm again, she sighed and then settled back down to wait on him.

He nodded, moving to help himself stand up as she worked with him. Soon he was standing and the pain subsided again, thank heavens. "Thanks," he muttered as they made their way back toward the bed. His mind flashed back to his concussion, the time when he had misplaced his teleportation and made intense contact with a boulder in the games. Didn't help the the boulder was coated with ice either. What he would have given to have her there that time, making that throbbing pain in his head go away. He had to stay awake after that, because he was sure he had a concussion.
That was one of the two times he got a parachute. Something to help with his head so that he could get some sleep. When he finally did pass out, he dreamt of the girl who could take his pain away. That wasn't the only time he dreamt of her... he didn't even notice that he had stopped walking and was zoning out.

Fin's far off look had her worried as he stopped short of the bed. Did he have a concussion or something worse? Maybe she needed to ease off her power so that they could figure out where he had hit the dresser. "fin? Fin. Snap out of it." Instead of grabbing his potentially injured shoulder to shake him, she used her hand closest to him to nudge his side. "hey, talk to me. Do we need to worry about a concussion now or what?" Having to keep him awake tonight would be miserable at best for both of them. He was exhausted as it was.

As Amy told him to snap out of it, he looked over at him with a goofy smile, "No, no concussion. Is this real though or am I dreaming?" he asked in a very matter of fact tone, lifting a hand to point at her. His pointer finger made contact with the tip of her nose. "wait a second, what the hell am I saying?" he said, snapping back into reality and pulling his finger away.

Amy finally broke down and laughed as Fin came back to his senses. Now the medicine was starting to really kick in, and he was struggling. Some people might have seen it as silly or weak, but Amy actually thought it was pretty cute. "Not dreaming, but you are a little loopy from the meds. Let's get you in bed before it gets worse." Sitting down on the side of the bed she had been previously occupying, she smiled up at him as her laughter subsided. "Why would I be here if it was a dream anyways?" Amy asked, her eyes bright from happiness and excitement as she pulled on his hand. Almost too late, she realized that his balance probably wasn't good enough for that and braced herself for him to fall on to the bed, probably on top of her.

Amys laughed pulled him even more into reality and he had a confused look on his face as she did so. She sat on the bed and diagnosed his loopiness to the drugs. At her question, he nodded, "because you've occupied my dreams befo-" and before he knew it she was tugging on his hand and pulling him toward her. Sadly, he fell onto the bed without any control and landed smack dab on top of her. He pushed him self up, looking into her eyes for a moment, "I am so sorry," he said, but he didn't make any attempt to move for several seconds.
Finally, he rolled over, twice, so they weren't even touching anymore.

Just as she had predicted, Fin fell on top of her with a hard thud, but not before starting a confession that left her wide eyed and speechless. Before she could find a way to react to everything, he was rolling away from her, no longer touching at all. This time she didn't reach for him to take the pain away, not right off. This was her fault, but because she had hesitated he was taking the blame. "Sorry for what? What you said, or what you did. The falling was my fault, and you didn't hurt me." No, quite the opposite actually. If anything she had liked the brief contact too much. "and what you said was my fault too. I shouldn't've asked, but I don't mind the answer either. I wish you would've finished before I tried to turn myself in to a pancake, but that's neither here nor there." Standing up, she backed away from the bed a few steps. If she had made things awkward enough that he didn't want her help anymore, then the least she could do was, give him space so he could lay down comfortably.
