Chrissy has always been a hardcore kind of person, even before the games. Her power singled her out as someone on the career track early in life, leading her to train hard and often. The trainers were right though. Her hard work and determination paired with a will to live allowed Chrissy to become the victor for the 27th annual hunger games at the age of seventeen.

However, her fall from grace a year later has lead her to be a bitter person. Chrissy is now a drug addict and an alcoholic, though she does tend to pull herself out of the gutter long enough to mentor the younger people in her district. It's not that she genuinely cares about whether or not they win the games, it's that she doesn't want them to go through what she did if they manage to make it out alive.

POWER DESCRIPTION ► Psionic blast allows Chrissy to incapacitate her opponents by causing them to pass out. The effects last about two minutes, though her range does have some effect on how long and how bad the side effects are. Even after the victim wakes up, they may still be disoriented and suffer from migraines and fatigue for up to two hours afterwards because of the mental strain. However, Chrissy does have her limits. The exertion caused by using her powers may lead to them backfiring, and trying to use them from a distance tends to drain her faster. She also must be able to see her victims for the psionic blast to work properly. If not, she can only cause mild dizziness or disorientation.

HISTORY ► Luxury and decadence, the main exports of district one. Every kid there grows up with a taste of the good life in their mouths, and the Strider twins were no exception. Early in life, Chrissy was chosen to train as a competitor for the Games, due to her power and attitude. Since this was the case, she has received special treatment for most of her life.

Though most careers wait until they are 18 to volunteer for the games, Chrissy ended up in them early due to a last minute injury for the female tribute in the 27th hunger games. In many ways this was a relief, as she had been slated to volunteer alongside her brother Jeremiah the next year. They both knew the implications, but chose to go along with the plan due to the odds of them winning back to back. Now they would have a chance to bring victory and honor to their district two years in a row while both of them could still live.

The games went according to plan, with none being able to stand in her way. Using the psionic blast, she incapacitated her victims before killing them with a small knife she managed to escape with in the blood bath. Out of the 23 kills made in the games, 18 of them belonged to her and her alone.

After the games, Chrissy became arrogant and willful, causing the President and his people to have a sit down with her. When she did not comply, under the reasoning that the government couldn’t hurt her due to her popularity and status, drastic measures were taken. Her parents were murdered in their home, her brother severely maimed. Despite his lingering injuries, Jeremiah was still reaped in to the games. This time, no one volunteered to save her brother or to bask in the glory for himself.

On the first day of the 28th hunger games, Jeremiah Lee Strider lost his life, and his sister lost her mind.

By the time of the 31st games, Chrissy has become a morphling addict and an alcoholic. If the tributes are lucky, they end up with another mentor or she manages to pull herself out of the stupor long enough to help them out. At the least, she tends to stop by and give them a small piece of advice should her district actually win the games, one she wished someone had told her.
