PERSONALITY ► Cadence is a bit of a rough and tumble kind of gal due to her upbringing. Her grandfather taught her to stand up for herself, especially at school or around bullies. No matter what the circumstances, she wasn’t raised to be a victim. Expect her to speak her mind on just about anything, almost to the point of getting in to trouble. Her temper is quick, but she can control it when she wants to. Most of the time she just tends to keep to herself because people annoy her and are a waste of her valuable time. At least, that’s what her grandpa always says.

POWER DESCRIPTION ► super speed allows Cadence to move faster and with more precision that the average person. This applies to all movements, including running, writing, and everything in between. Cadence generally uses her power when practicing for work in the textile factories she will inevitably end up in. Though it doesn’t tire her often, she has to remind herself to slow down or she will eventually suffer from power exhaustion whenever her body finally gives up. Four miles straight is her current record without getting winded, but she’s working on upping that over time. Her power does not have a direct effect on other citizens.

HISTORY ► Cadence doesn’t remember her mother or her father, only the rough old man who raised her. According to some of her more distant family members, her mother was beautiful and had a lovely singing voice and her father was one of the best men they ever met. Caddy just thinks that people still refuse to speak ill of the dead. Amelia and Austin Smith were both killed during an accident in one of the textile mills shortly after Cadence’s first birthday. A machine malfunctioned with the young couple nearby, killing them both instantly as well as several other people working in the area.
Luckily for Cadence, her grandfather stepped in to raise her. Though he is a tough love kind of guy, he still did the best by her that he could. Now, at the age of fourteen, Caddy hopes to avoid the Hunger Games in order to stay with her aging grandfather. They are literally all the family they have left, though part of her can’t help but hope that something will happen so that she doesn’t have to spend her life in the mills like her parents did.
